How did WW1 impact women?
One of the biggest impact World War 1 had on women was equality. Men and women were not equal, women were always looked at for being weak and dependent, whereas men were strong and independent. Women were not treated fairly. When the soldiers left for war the women had to take on all of the men's jobs. They would also work all day, 10-12 hours and still get underpaid. The excuse that was commonly used by the owners of the workplaces was that women did not work hard enough, therefor they did not deserve full payment. That excuse was false because women would put the same amount of effort into there work just like the men did. They were forced to go to work all day and put all of there energy into there job, because they had to provide for there families. On top was working all day when they finally got home they would still have to take care of there property, like farm lands if they had any. They were put into the same exact position in work that men were doing, but the women would not get any recognition for it simply because of there gender. Women were hard to fulfill there job and provide for there families, but when the men came back from war the workplaces were trying to kick the women out to the men can take there jobs. The workplaces did not care that some women either lost there partner in war or there partner lost a limb so it made the men incapable to work, so the women would have to continue working in order to provide for her family. This was difficult for the women to do because workplaces wanted the women out, so the soldiers that came back from the war would have a place to work.
