Summary
In conclusion, World War 1 was not worth it because it caused many other conflicts. By proceeding into the war, it caused many problems to Canadians that could of been avoided. One of the problems was tat both men and women were struggling with was jobs. When the men left for war, the women had to replace the men in there workplaces. Women were forced to work in dangerous work environments, were underpaid, worked all day, and was not respected. When the soldiers came back there was not any jobs available for them, so the Government were treating the women unfairly and was trying to make them leave there job, so the men would have somewhere to work. Protests did start because the soldiers were promised a job after the war and they did not receive that. Many Canadians also lost there lives due to the war. The war killed around 60, 000 Canadians and the Spanish influenza epidemic killed another 50, 000 Canadians. That virus spread to Canada because the returning soldiers were infected with it and brought it back with them. Another problem that occurred do to the was probation. The Government thought prohibition would help solve the war quicker, but all it did was create problems. For example, bootleggers would sell alcohol illegally and many Canadians turned to drugs. They turned to drugs for a replacement for alcohol, but this was very dangerous. That caused many Canadians to overdoes and die. The last problem that World War 1 created was the conscription crisis. The conscription separated the French and the English. The conscription also created a huge riot. These are some of the conflicts World War 1 started, I hope after you read these arguments you will think more deeply into World War 1.
